“A dream is only a dream if you sleep on it.” – C. Scholar

I had the opportunity to do a shoot with Richmond’s very own C. Scholar. Check out more of the images and his bio below.

C.Scholar Is a young aspiring musician birthed in the brave-heart state of Virginia. Since the age of 8 his passion for music has manifested overtime. His creative and unique style has allowed him to be featured on the infamous Jermaine Dupri’s blogsite and turned the heads of industry icons such as Sisqo and Dru Hill. At the age of 17 his major song that created a local stir around the town was known as Strutta Walk. This particular song was produced by Grammy Award Winning Producer Teddy Bishop out of Atlanta, Georgia. The song was played on local radio stations such as 92.1 FM and 106.5 FM which eventually helped C.Scholar to land his first major performance at the Landmark Theatre in the spring of 2009 opening for Gucci Mane. Since then he has opened many shows up and down the east coast and worked with many other major producers such as Grammy Award Winner Rio Bridges, New York’s Very Own D Cole and more. His drive and dedication clearly shows through his work. C.Scholar has become a youtube sensation through his creative video work, universal music and sound. His future holds a glorious outcome and the time is near.

“My last name didnt happen by chance. This is my destiny.” – Kay Tunes

Got to step into the music industry and do some new work. With not that much experience i decided to just shoot creatively. I had the honor of working with Richmond’s own Kay Tunes. More images and bio below…

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Kay.Tunes began singing at an early age. At the age of six, Kay.Tunes won her first talent show singing, “This House” by Tracey Spencer. The win further ignited her passion for performing as she continued to compete at and win local talent shows throughout Virginia. At 13 years old, she won a chance to compete at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, where she blew the audience away. As a teenager Kay.Tunes realized that she wanted to pursue a career in music full-time. However, after high school she was encouraged to go to college and get a degree so she would have something to fall back on. Kay.Tunes attended Old Dominion College but her heart was not in it, so she left school to pursue a career in music. While holding up to three different part-time jobs at a time, Kay.Tunes honed her skills as a songwriter by developing songs for other artists as she continued create a buzz for herself a singer and performer in the Virginia music scene.

In addition to collaborating with Rio, for her upcoming project Kay.Tunes has enlisted music heavyweights to produce her album including: producers Lee Major Kid (Jay Z, Young Jeezy, Flo-Rida, Wyclef, Mary J Blidge, Nas); Theo Edmonds (Young Berg, Noreaga); Sound H Productions (Skillz); and Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum selling producer Gerard Thomas (Destinys Child, Missy Elliott, Ashanti, Mel B from the Spice Girls).

She was born to make music; her last name is not a coincidence.
