When striving to achieve personal goals, there is a common internal struggle of having to motivate oneself in order to resist failure. We have the power of “pushing ourselves forward, or pulling ourselves back” from whatever we aspire to achieve. I aim to display this idea through athlete portraits within their associated environments, where they play multiple roles within the frame. I chose to portray athletes based on the physical exerted pain and motivational struggle they endure daily in order to become their idea of greatness.
Had the opportunity to do a collaborative product photoshoot with Sophisticated Ignorance Boutique and Kno Idea Snapbacks.

Had the chance to watch and photograph artist Big Sean and Dj MoBeatz rock the stage at the VCU Homecoming 2012 concert, which also featured Outasight & Kendrick Lamar. More images from the show can be seen on the Student Hip Hop Organization’s website.
I had the great opportunity to photograph my first college basketball game last night. It was VCU’s homecoming game against Northeastern, where VCU won 59-56. This opportunity reminded me of when I used to play basketball in high school, and how much I love having the opportunity to photograph this sport.
